Signing and Speaking Engagements

I had another speaking engagement on Tuesday with the Ad and Marketing group in Jackson. Boy, are they a fun bunch! They play bingo and eat lunch. We met at Huntington Grill. On Saturday, I'll be speaking at Lorelei Bookstore in Vicksburg. Lorelei is in the old section of Vicksburg in a very cool, remodeled building. The owners live above the store in a great, modern apartment. I'll speak, then have an question and answer session. Afterwards, of course, I'll sign books. Should be a good day for a drive to the River City!

Speaking Engagement Tonight!

I'll be speaking at the Executive Women's Association tonight. We'll be at Ruth Chris, so I know the meal will be great. Jackie is going with me to help with book sales. Plenty to talk about with the start of the new year. I'll also start my new gig with WLBT Midday Mississippi. I'll be on air during the noon hour. Today, I'll talk about credit card debt.

More Radio

This morning I was on 93.5, the Christian station broadcast from the campus of Mississippi College. Traci and Russ were very welcoming. We had a great conversation about the need for good financial education. I forgot to bring in signed copies for each, so I had to make a quick trip to the car to get the books. We received a phone call immediately after the interview. A gentleman wanted to order 22 books for the students at University Christian!

Making the Rounds

I was on MPB's Morning Edition yesterday. It went well, except that the Jackson Tower went out at the end of the interview! Is this a sign of things to come? This morning I was on 98.7 with EJ. She was great fun. I didn't feel quite as nervous. I'll brave the cold temps and the rain tomorrow to be at Lemuria for a signing. Hope to see you there!

In Transit

The books are in transit from the printer and will be here on Friday. I'm getting ready for my first signing at Lemuria on Saturday at 2 pm. They are booked with back-to-back authors. Tomorrow, I'll be on MPB's Morning Edition to talk about the book. Friday, I'll be on 98.7 with EJ, and Monday I'll be interviewed on 93.5. My publicists are working on television spots, but I think I prefer radio. I don't have to worry about my hair!

More Work!

I'm already getting suggestions for Book 2! Whew! Can I make it on 3 hours of sleep a night? While I hope to write more, I'm just grateful for the opportunity this one book gives me to educate and motivate folks to learn to manage their money properly. As for any future books, I'll just approach this like Scarlett O'Hara... I'll worry about that one tomorrow.

Pre-Orders

I've taken 2 pre-orders! Of course, I don't think I'll hit the NY Times bestseller list with this number, but it's exciting nonetheless. I'm a few weeks away from my first signing and already thinking about the pen I'll use. My publicists are working overtime setting up events. It's happening!

Starting the Conversation

I'm starting to talk about the book. It's been my secret for a while, as I was always uncertain I'd reach this point. As I let out the word about the book, I'm getting requests for copies... a good feeling!

At the Press!

The book has been put to bed... so to speak. It's been shipped to the printer and will be ready in a couple of weeks. The official availability date is December 14th. I have my first signing at Lemuria on December 12th, so we'll get a special shipment by that date. I don't think it will seem real until I hold the actual book in my hands.
